Thanks Easy gardener - It was lucky and as of this afternoon I have to console myself that I managed to save these two only, as I took a peak in the box and discovered very sadly that the other 3 didn't make it - could have been that they'd been hurt in the fall or just the shear fright of it all? Hi Cheryl - It was such a blessing to discover the nest before it fell and I could never bear for any wildlife to suffer and if there was a chance of saving them I'd have done whatever it took... it brings quite a satisfying feeling when you've done something to save a life or too!
Lucky you noticed the nest was in danger of falling. The babies look strangely un-birdlike, perhaps because I can't see any wings!
