A special gift for all plant and nature lovers...

I just had to add a posting for the benefit of all who read my blog on a beautiful gift that we received from our lovely friends Liz and Mike Fraser who spent 12 years living at the Cape of Good Hope.  They have just published this truly stunning book on the amazing variety of plant life at the Cape, together with the stories of  plant collectors'  expeditions to the Cape over the last 300 years - entertainingly written by Mike, whose "day job" is a Conservation Officer for the RSPB and with gorgeous illustrations by professional artist Liz.

You can see some sample pages of the book and find further information on their website.

To buy a copy - you can purchase this through Amazon UK or at a number of other websites

If you're looking for a special present for a friend or family member for a birthday or Christmas or a wedding present even... look no further - IT'S FABULOUS!

Hi John - thanks so much for taking the time to post a comment - I feel I've almost neglected all my blogging this year - my work is just SO busy - I miss all the contact with everyone and hope I'll get a bit more time for this over the winter months - time will tell - take care Miranda

Looks like a stunning book. Equally stunning is the Black Peonie Poppy in one of your earlier posts - it's a real beauty. Also enjoying your birds on the beach shots, such lovely clear light.

I was wondering if you might add your garden to Folia the online gardening website (it's free). I'm always looking to encourage more gardeners to join and am having an extra push this week while the weather is keeping most people indoors.

It's a great resource for gardeners and has helped me keep on top of my 800+ plantings with photo's, notes, journals, milestones etc. They have an extensive plant wiki and a seed stash section where people can also list seeds for swapping. Here's the link to my Folia page so you can see how it works: www.myfolia.com/gardener/CDfolia/invite.
